Vodacom blocking Paypal
Not receiving any OTP (short text messages) from PayPal.
PayPal says it is a problem with Vodacom.
from online activity it is clear that this is an ongoing issue since around December 2023.
I have contacted Vodacom and also visited multiple Vodacom stores, but am told that Paypal is at fault.
This problem can be duplicated by anyone. just try to sign up to Paypal and enter your Vodacom cell no- no OTP is received. but if you use a no from other SA celll provider, it just works- which seems to be a quick way to prove that Vodacom is somehow blocking the service?
Why is Vodacom not resolving or assisting customers - and why not issue a circular or something to address this problem on a large scale as this seems to be such a common problem!
It could be that the normal Vodacom contact channels do not know how to resolve this issue, so I am still hopeful that Vodacom can resolve.

01 May 2024, 12:19Unfortunately, this response does not resolve the problem! with Vodacom once again blame-shifting to Paypal, and instead of making contact with me and trying to assist, Vodacom gives a "canned" response by stating the problem is not with them.
While it is stated that the problem will be escalated to technical department, nothing happens, and is the reason I submitted this review on HelloPeter.
