Vodacom blocking debt review client

I am under debt review since 2019. I upgraded in 2021 with no problem. Yesterday 1 March 2024, I went into Vodacom Clearwater Mall to upgrade. I was told the finance option was removed and I can upgrade if I pay R12000 up front for the device. The assistant manager then took no interest to assist me and told me to call the call centre as he is only an employee of vodacom (his words) and can do nothing further. So I called the upgrade department today and was giving the run around about the credit bureau and since I am under debt review I am a risk. So in 2021 when my debt was a lot more than today, I was approved and no hassle. The best part is when he told me they cannot approve the R699 per month (R50 more than my current contract), but he can approve it if the package is higher e.g. R1500. In what world does this make sense? He said it is so if I skip or stop paying, they at least got something. So I am a vodacom customer for more than 20 years, and never skipped payment not before debt review and definitely not during debt review. Cell phone contracts are excluded on my debt review contract as it is part of my monthly expenses. Why is vodacom now concerned and discriminating against people under debt review?

Reviewer Update
Thank you for your feedback. If you listened to the call / records you are referring to on 02/03/2024 you will agree that my question was not answered as the consultant could not explain why I got approved for an upgrade in 2021 (while 2 years under debt review), and declined now. Cell phone contracts are not included with debt review contracts as it is monthly expenses. The fact that you did not even bothered to call me show me what you think of your long running clients for over 20 years. I know you will not care to loose my small monthly subscription hence the lack of customer service. I can only laugh at you for the fact that you see me as high risk and cannot, no, won't approve me for R699 but you are willing to approve my upgrade if we take a package deal from R1500 onwards.
Not satisfied with your poor reply and customer service.
