Vodacom blatant disregard to their contractual obligation.
In December 2019 I added a contract onto our existing Vodacom business account. I dealt with their head office via their business call centre as that is where our corporate account is held. I have been with them since 1994 , this is the worst level of service that has shocked me, necessitating me to report how their ethical and moral standards have declined over time. I never believed possible given their blatant disregard to a legal obligation which would be evident to the moral compass of even an 8 year old child. They were supposed to migrate the line from Cell C to Vodacom. That was the request by telephone, on my company letter head signed by me as the owner ( which they demanded or would not process the order) and by further emails. In an email I further confirmed that the number is currently with Cell C on contact ( month to month) and they stated in a email response that they would take care of the migration for me. Comes January I contact them to enquire why the Cell C number is still under Cell C and has not been migrated they told me it cannot be done. Why ? Because I accepted the phone with a new a Vodacom number???!!!! I never asked for this, never wanted it, never accepted it yet I am stuck with it!!! The lady I dealt with apologised to me and said it is up to their admin team and we still wait for the remedy which evidently has fallen completely on deaf ears almost 3 months later. Now instead of paying for one phone with unlimited calls and 10Gb of data built into my monthly contract I am forced to pay for my data and my calls to Cell C over and above my Vodacom contract otherwise I cannot keep my number which I use for business and have for many many years. So in essence I am paying twice for the same service. Highly disgusted at Vodacom’s ethics and I would warn anyone looking at doing business with them against their poor ethics and standards.
