Vodacom BLACK FRIDAY ****...Vodacom needs to hounour purchases
So like quite a few of the reviews on here, I purchased a TV as part of Vodacom's black Friday deals via the Vodabucks App. When I first noticed the deal and tried to purchase it, I was immediately shown the message that the deal was sold out and that I should check back later. After doing this frequently, I was lucky enough to manage to "purchase" one of these TVs. This morning (5 days later) I received an SMS stating that the order cannot be fulfilled due to stock constraints. After phoning around for an hour and being pushed from pillar to post, I managed to get through to a consultant dealing with the Vodabucks purchases.
After checking my order, the consultant came back to me stating that there is no stock and I would get a refund. When I queried how there could be no stock available as the deal was only made available for a limited amount of time and number of TVS, she advised that the payment "does not conclude the purchase". In any transaction when the funds are taken from the purchaser on behalf of the supplier, the sale is concluded.
I fail to see how Vodacom could make a deal available for a set amount of time and items and then suddenly not have any stock available. This is unacceptable and bordering on false adverti*****t, not to mention the huge inconvenience of the lack of communication. Had this communication been sent on the day I would have been able to take up one of the various other deals available from other suppliers which was not done since the sale was concluded. oh and By the way I am still waiting for a supervisor from the above department to contact me back, 4 hours later.
I have been a customer with Vodacom for close to 20 years now with multiple contracts and not once did I not full fill my side of the agreement. I am disgusted with the current activities and refuse to accept this as I paid for an item and now it is Vodacom's responsibility to honor this transaction.
