Vodacom Billing for account that's been closed with final demand
To Vodacom
Vodacom still billing on an account that’s been Cancelled
I went to Vodashop in October 2017 to cancel my contract(contract expired begging of December 2017) with Vodacom and moved over to prepaid. I settled everything on my account and I was informed that there's nothing outstanding and no other costs that I still needed to pay. I made double sure all is settle with Vodacom as I was leaving South Africa at the end of January 2018. I paid in advance for the last few days going into November month, leaving my account in credit at this point in time. I now have received a legal notice in March 2018 via Email for my account being outstanding. Since I am not living in South Africa anymore my fiancée had to contact Vodacom to find out what is going on. I had to fill in forms to state that I allow her to make queries on my account. Here is the ref number I received from Vodacom 00LW~WCT9. My Fiancée struggled for more than 3 hours being redirected to the billing department then back to customer care back to billing then to the legal depart and at the end of the 3 hours she was again back at customer care. Cleary it looks like no one at Vodacom knows what they are doing there. The last person she spoke to said that the staff at Broad acres Vodashop was supposed to provide me with a cancellation request, which they didn't do. According to me, the person whom assisted me did the cancellation there and then, gave me a closing balance, I paid and everything sorted. Vodacom even refunded me after I contacted them regarding data that I paid for but was lost when the conversion was done from contract to prepaid. I even went back in December 2017 to again make sure everything was in order, and again, the staff at Broad acres Vodashop assured me that everything is fine. According to the accounts /subscription department, another month's invoice was created and the 'overpayment' was now simply deducted from the invoice. So... Why not inform me about the account? I went to the shop, willing to settle any outstanding balances, not once, but twice! Both times I was assured that everything was settled! And why send me a LEGAL NOTICE 5 months after. No invoice / No SMS, No Emails just a legal notice, 5 months later, and may I just state that I received the notice VIA EMAIL. My account is now 3 x the outstanding amount, and now I'm just supposed to smile and pay? Since my Fiancé is leaving South Africa this Friday 14/04/2018 and all are bank accounts is closed. What to Vodacom want us to do. We don’t get any assistance from Vodacom but Vodacom wants me to pay them for their ***** up where they were suppose the credit me R558.88.. *******!!!!!! Funny you never hear from them when they own you money.
My account is I ********** -8
