Vodacom bad bad service delivery
Since the lockdown, we've been living with the kids on a farm in the Dealesville /Boshof district in the Freestate. The Cellphone reception is normally poor, so we have to make use of a signal booster to help. Since the end of November 2020, we have had almost zero to none reception at all and when we do have reception, the signal is very poor, even with the booster, and we can't make or receive any calls, we cannot connect to the internet via any of the two WiFi routers I have on contract with Vodacom, and with great difficulty it is sometimes possible to connect to social media. I have logged complaints with two different Vodacom stores in Bloemfontein, and they have taken the issue as far as they could. Each time the query that has been raised, was closed without me being contacted by anybody at Vodacom. I was just made aware of the closure via sms, at the same time I received a notification of a call that was missed from Vodacom. As the issue is poor reception, is difficult for me to understand how they can close a query after one unanswered call. The first time we were told, (via the Vodacom person who logged the first complaint) that the problem was due to the implementation of the 5G system at the towers, which I think is nonsense, as we don't even have Fibre yet. The second query, we were told that apparently a Vodacom tower in our area was damaged by lightning, but it was visited by a repair company on the 23rd of December. Apparently, the problem was never attended to. It is now February 2021,and still no joy. My problem is, that I now have to bay extra data for our mobile phones, which can only be used when we go to town where we have reception, and can log on to the internet, or social media. When data is unused, Vodacom simply takes is back after 30 days. Even if you were not able to use it, due to their poor service delivery. My Vodacom account acount for November was 'only' R1550 - payable end of December. December's acc was +-R3800, of which R2000 was for data that I had to buy extra, while R600 was for the two basically unused WiFi contracts with +-100 gig of data each. January's account - payable this month, is +-R2300. Again R600 for the dead WiFi accounts and my unused 200 gig of Data and nearly R1000 for extra data for our mobile phones, to use when we go to town. The worst part is that all the data that was carried over from previous months, are lost to me. Vodacom used to be one of the best service providers in SA. Is this just another case of big business going down the drain in ******* hands, where the only object is to ***** as much from the people as they can?
