Vodacom are such *****!!!

I’m not sure what’s happening at Vodacom…maybe they’re making us fit the bill for losing the ‘Please Call Me’ case. A Vodacom call center agent called Irwin Cook called me sometime in March/April offering me an upgrade plan from Vodacom where I would be getting an extra R150 worth of airtime but for just R1 extra. I asked what the catch was and he said there wasn’t any. So before agreeing, I requested a ref number for the call (***) and OK’ed him to proceed with the upgrade. I asked him to confirm that if I was paying R752 per month, would the bill then go up to R753? He agreed and confirmed. About a month later, some shady character s****ed calling me on two consecutive days from a regular Vodacom cellphone number. First from ***, then from ***. This person said his name was Sizwe Dlamini or Sbusiso Dlamini and he was calling me from the Vodacom call center to confirm my cellphone number. I then confirmed that that was my number. He then requested personal details for my sim card of course to go and **********ly clone and rica it so I refused. I called the real Vodacom call center to report this and to check if there hadn’t been any unfami**** activities on my account. That is when I discovered that I had things in place that I did not agree to which I requested to be deactivated. I was going to be paying an extra R150 on my bill for the month of May instead of the extra R1 I had agreed upon with Irwin Cook, the Vodacom consultant. I asked to be downgraded back to the previous plan that I was on because I was happy on that plan and I didn’t think that adding just R1 would do any harm to my bill but I was told that migrating back to my old plan would cost me R917. R917? So Vodacom, you mean to tell me that you lie to people to sell your products and when they trust you and purchase your product at the given rate, you go and add the real, actual cost that was not even mentioned, let alone agreed upon to their bills. And when they query it and request to return the product that you sold to them under false pretenses, you want to charge them a migration cost of an extra R917 on top of the R752 or R902 bill that you already charged for the month? You mean to tell me that it cost me R150 (or R1) to upgrade, but you will charge me R917 to return to my original plan? Maybe I misunderstood what the consultant (a lady called Mpho) was explaining to me. Could someone please clarify because if that is the case…then hayi, that’s hella shady and I’m terminating my contract as soon as possible and taking my business elsewhere. To add to this, all this comes as a shock to me because I have never ever been posted or emailed my statement so basically im in the dark about anything regarding my account with Vodacom. All I know is that there is a debit order that goes off every last day of the month. And I am still losing data bundles and airtime within minutes after loading prepaid airtime. no one can tell me what the problem is. I have been using an iphone 5s for the past 2 years, Im always on the internet, I've always got my apps open but this is the first that this has happened.
