03 Sept 2026, 09:35I am extremely disappointed with Vodacom and the way my account has been handled.
Vodacom added a data contract/service to my account without my consent. I never requested or agreed to this service, and I was not contacted beforehand to give my consent.
As soon as I noticed the data/service on my account, I contacted Vodacom and clearly told them that I did not want it and that it should be cancelled. Despite this, the matter was not resolved, and I have now been negatively affected by this issue, including damage to my credit profile.
What makes the situation even more concerning is that Vodacom says calls are recorded. I requested the recording of the call where I supposedly agreed to this contract because I have never given consent for it. However, they have not been able to provide me with the recording or proof that I agreed to the contract.
If Vodacom claims that I authorised this service, then I expect them to provide clear proof of when and how I gave that consent.
I find this entire situation unacceptable. I did not request this service, I specifically told Vodacom that I did not want it, and I should not have to suffer financial or credit consequences for something I never agreed to.
