Vodacom are ******

I am writing this on behalf of my mother as well as myself. My entire family, 5 of us, have decided to move from Vodacom to Cell C because the rates and deals they have are far better and you get a better bang for your buck. So we ported to Cell C because she gets R150 airtime, all her WhatsApp messages and pictures and 150MB more data on the contract for around R300 cheaper than on Vodacom.

The sim has been ported and we have received confirmation from both service providers of the change. We inserted the Cell C sim and the phone is saying "no sim" so we tried another Cell C sim, that we know works because it's my girlfriend's and we still get the same problem. I then put my mother's new Cell C sim card in my phone and it works just great! So I called Cell C to find out what to do and they told me that the phone has been sim locked. This means that only a Vodacom sim card can work in the phone. Now as far as I know and I stand to be corrected, this is ******* here in South Africa. So I call Vodacom and I get passed from department to department with nobody knowing what to do as soon as I mention that the practice of locking phones is ******* in RSA. I eventually get through to a lady in accounts that informs me she can't help because it's been ported to Cell C already and I need to go into a Vodashop to see if they can "do something about it"

As for my issue, I keep getting debited for a 10GB recurring bundle that has been added onto my account and now I am refusing to pay my outstanding amount until they fix the problem. I went into a Vodashop to find out what was going on when I got my bill and I was told by one of your consultants, while giggling, that I wasn't the first to complain about it and she couldn't help me, I had to contact the accounts department directly. I was then told they couldn't refund me the first month because my original 1GB bundle had been converted to the 10GB and I had used some of it (less than 1GB) already and they would refund me for the 2nd month only, which they did, but now want me to pay for the 10GB that was added in the 1st month.

So Vodacom, we will not waste our time or petrol to go to ANY vodashop to fix something that was done *******ly in the first place! In fact we should actually go to the ombudsmen and report you for this disgusting behavior. I'm sure we are not the first to go through something like this so I'm sure the excuses are lined up and ready to go. We will rather wait for the stock to arrive at Cell C and go without a phone until it comes next week.

Thanks for your incredible service and for caring about your customers like nobody else can. This only justifies the move even after we have made it!
