Vodacom and their courier RAM Hand to Hand cannot make a simple delivery.

We placed new orders online last week Sunday and Monday. 19 and 20 Apr. This was so we can give gifts for our 8 year old twins on their birthday. About the only thing we can give then

We were called for both new contracts to confirm and verify all including our address as put into the online portal. They told us RAM Hand to Hand will do the delivery

This is our address and I cannot give them another address as I have to be present during delivery. Every other courier company calls when they are in the area and not sure which property it is.

On Monday we were told delivery is between 3 and 5 days

As soon as it appeared on the RAM tracking Website we saw that it is being returned to Vodacom as address is incomplete. This was Wednesday. We called RAM to confirm our address is correct and they assured us they will call us as soon as they will go out for delivery. This would have been late Thursday or Friday. We traced it again on Friday morning and the same happened again. We called them to inform them that the address is correct and to please call us for delivery. Twice they were going to look into their system and call us back. That did not happened and the packages were not delivered. This was for our 8 year old twins on their birthday on Sunday, so no gifts for them.

RAM is closed over weekends and also Monday was a public holiday. Today (28 Apr 2020)I called RAM and they told us again that the address is incorrect. We explained to them again. They claim that the items was not ever picked up from Vodacom as Vodacom has not provided them with the address. The one device they can still pick up and delivery, but the second they cannot as it has been cancelled.

I called Vodacom customer care. They told me after I was cut off and not called back again that there is nothing they can do and I have to call sales dept. I spoke with the supervisor Christopher. What they did tell us is that RAM had the items but returned it. So between RAM and VODACOM they are accusing each other

I called Sales. They informed me that I must have put the wrong address when I did the orders online. That is not true as I made 100% sure the address is correct to ensure delivery. The address was also confirmed when you called us to confirm the new contracts. RAM also has the correct address, so that cannot be true. I was now told that there is nothing we can do at this stage but wait for the one item to be booked back into the system and then resent out

At this point I have zero faith that that will happen

I cannot speak to any person that can take charge and make a decision and can only send a mail to a generic address.

I have been a loyal customer to Vodacom for many years and spend a lot with them on all the contracts that we have. Not the level of service you would expect

What am I to do?

I was contacted the same day by a person from Vodacom (I did not make a note of his name). He looks after all the Hellopeter complaints. He looked up my problem and promised to solve this. We did receive the first tablet last week, but not the second one. That order was cancelled and had to be redone. This was done but not in time to get the 2nd one delivered last week. We got all the sms's from Vodacom and RAM. Today I did a tracking and early on it said consigned to client side, which means that RAM has to pick it up. A little later on it said the same thing it did on both the previous two tablets. They have made no delivery attempt as require full address. So we back to square one again. On the 1st tablet we where able to fix this for this instance, but clearly the system between Vodacom and RAM do not work. You would have thought that with so many people involved in this they would have been able to get it right the 2nd time. There is no use to try to call the help lines as it take ages to answer and at this point I have no idea who to call as no one was able to really help me before. I will just wait for the friendly guy that works through all the Hellopeter complaints to call me and try again.
