Vodacom and its ********* behaviour
Vodacom and its ********* behaviour On 11 October 2017 - I called Vodacom to give notice to have my contract closed, now that it has reached it 24 months, but I want to keep my number as a pay as you go. (prepaid number) On 1 November 2017 - a debit order was taken off my bank account for R481.27 On 1 December 2017 - a debit order was taken off my bank account for R259.00. At this point I was told this is my last payment and I need to charge my phone with a cash value in order to use it. Up to this point, my contract ended with Vodacom and I was moved onto Pay as you go.
This weekend I saw a special in the paper and went to a store to take up the contract. I asked the sales lady if I can move from prepaid to contract and keep my cell number as I had this number for over 10 years. She said, yes I can do that. She called the Vodacom call centre number and was put through 4 different departments and 4 hours later, I left as she could not get hold of any at Vodacom to do this transaction for me.
On Monday, I get a call from the saleslady saying everything is done and approved, I can come and collect the phone. I go in and sign the forms and collect the phone.
Today I get a call and the saleslady says she is still battling to get the number activated on contract. At 3pm, I get a call from a lady at Vodacom, who wants to confirm who I am and states that I owe Vodacom a value of R268.49. And I ask her where is this value coming from. She states it is a handset instalment from my previous contract. After a heated debate on why am I only now being notified of this and why has Vodacom not debited me when they last took a debit order in Dec 2017. Where is the statement to show I am still owing any amounts and why has this not been communicated to me sooner? Where is the communication Vodacom????? At this point she does not know how to answer any questions, she hangs up the call on me.
A few minutes pass and she calls me back stating the call got cut. She still insists I need to pay this amount otherwise I wont be able to take this contract from the store. I tell her I need to speak to her manager and she must transfer me. She says she cannot and I must dial a number ********** or something and ask for the manager. She thanked me for the call and cut the call on me again.
Now Vodacom, here are my questions to you. 1. Where is this outstanding value coming from? 2. Why is this not displayed on any statement? If I owe you any monies, why have you not shown this to me on any statement?? 3. Why did you not debit my bank account for this value at any point in the past? Why did you cancel the debit order? 4. I have tried to take a contract with you and you are stopping me from doing so. 4 days have gone by and countless hours lost in your various call centres and to this minute, you have it listed that I owe you an amount. You are making me loose out on a deal from your under trained staff who cannot make a decision or transfer a call. 5. For all of this time lost and wasted time on phone calls to your call centres, I request that you sort out this outstanding value, and since I will now loose out on this contract and new phone, I request you issue a new phone to me and keep me on a pay as you go.
You have just insulted a customer who has been a customer for more than 10 years!!!!!
