Vodacom and eSOM activation

Got an iPhone 14 ProMax while in the USA. It only works with eSIM. Have been struggling ever since returning to SA to activate my Vodacom eSIM properly. Everything works fine - calls, whatsapp, etc. However, receiving SMS does not work, and one needs SMS for OTPs, etc. Vodacom has something called OneNumber, which means it does not link sms to your personal number. I have been to the Vodashop four times (they're very helpful, but can't fix it). I called Vodacom Customer Care repeatedly now (already have three different reference numbers), but they can't fix it either. The one continuously refers me to the other - customer care says it is something the Vodashop must do, Vodashop says it is a bigger issue that needs to be dealt with by Vodacom. I'm in the middle. Really. Why?

Problem solved; at long ****** last. I wish to sincerely thank Zakkiyya Methar and Jorain Hasttingh from Vodacom in Mooiriver Mall, Potchefstroom (the store next to Game). They were able to fix the issue within 5 minutes. The problem started with Vodacom in Menlyn Pretoria who set it up incorrectly - they set it up as an iWatch and not as an iPhone. I've been struggling with this matter for more than a month now, if not two. Last week I decided that I will go on a daily basis to the Vodashops in my town (Potchefstroom), AND get in touch with Customer Care on a daily basis.

Since then, I went to two different Vodashops in Potchefstroom (we have three in town); this happened four times. They couldn't fix it and kept on referring me back to Vodacom Customer Care. I spoke to three different consultants at Customer Care and have three reference numbers. They were also not able to fix the issue and kept on referring me back to the Vodacom Shop. I have thus been running up and down between shops and Customer Care... At long last, I went to yet another Vodacom Shop in Potchefstroom this morning (in Mooriver Mall, next to Game) and the two ladies were extremely helpful and supportive, AND they were able to fix the issue, as described above. They immediately realised that it was set up incorrectly and knew what to do.

Clearly the majority of Vodacom staff needs better training, or additional training. This is ridiculous. I hope that Zakkiyya Methar and Jorain Hasttingh will be acknowledged for this excellent service. Thank you, ladies. I sincerely appreciate your support and knowledgeability.
