*******: Vodacom altering cell contracts - no consent from client
Summary: Do not take out any new contracts with Vodacom
Complaint: On the first of February, my cell phone stopped working and it showed No Service in the signal bar.
Having turned the phone on and off again, taken out the sim and tried every setting to no avail, I went on Sunday to the Vodacom shop and was told that Vodacom has unilaterally and WITHOUT my consent changed my cellular contract to a package that only works in internet routers.
I waited until Monday morning (as it was the weekend) and phoned Vodacom to initiate the REVERSAL of this transaction that they had carried out unknown to me, and was told it would take a maximum of 24 hours to reactivate.
It is now Wednesday afternoon at 14:35 and I STILL do not have cellular connection.
Now if this was a mistake on my part I would be slightly more tolerant of this pathetic service but since I had absolutely NOTHING to do with the authorization or initiation of this package change, I am starting to lose patience.
I was told at the Vodacom store that this issue is one that is occurring more frequently. It seems that the Vodacom sales team is pushing certain package deals over others because of some sort of incentive and in some cases, such as mine, they are making these changes, of their own accord, with not a single iota of consent from or regard to the clients wishes and choice.
This is ******* and I will not tolerate it. It is a breach of contract and it is quite concerning that this company has no wish to remedy this situation.
Please note, I was told yesterday that this reversal will take a month to carry out.
I will not be accepting this or any other excuses.
You can be certain that I will be taking legal action and taking this case to social media and the news if I do not have Vodacom cellphone service by close of business today.

Surely, there is a better way to treat your loyal customers?
