Vodacom allowed my SIM to be swapped without my ap
At 16:39 on the 4 February 2016 I received an SMS from Vodacom stating that a request for a new or replacement SIM Card on my line due to theft or loss. If you suspect ***** and have not requested this new SIM immediately contact Vodacom Customer Care on 082111 which I did at 16:41. The agent then advised me that I need to send a mail to [Email Removed] which I did by 17:01 only to get an automated response stating their office hours are Monday to Friday 08h00 to 17j00. We endeavor to resolve all queries within 24 Hours. At 19:00 when I looked at my phone to make a call I noticed that my SIM was disabled. I called the call centre at 19:05 to query why the SIM swap was done when I specifically call earlier to inform them that it is *****. Of cause at that time no one would be able to assist. What makes it more frustrating is that my account is a corporate line and should I need any changes, upgrades etc I need a company letter even if I need to add additional data. During the call with the call centre at night it was picked up that Altech requested the SIM swap. When the Vodacom staff did the swap they could have picked up that this line is not Altech's and stopped the swap.
