Vodacom AirG spam smses, ******** billing and ******** access to personal information - FOLLOW UP.

I posted the following complaint however Vodacom got the amout wrong and do not have a clue what customer service is.

The initial complaint:

Vodacom AirG spam smses, ******** billing and ******** access to personal information.

Between 03/04 and 22/04 I was inundated with spam SMS from AirG that require you to opt out otherwise you are automatically subscribed to their service. I did opt out however I was still signed up for the last 6 months.

I called customer services on 22/09 and went through the whole process of what happened and what needs to be done. I was promised it would be investigated and someone would call me back. I heard nothing and nothing was done.

On the 27/09 I went through the whole process again, for 30 minutes, and again I was promised that it would be investigated, somebody would call me, the subscription would be cancelled, I would be reimbursed and “something extra” for all trouble. Again, Nothing. I received notification on the 05/10 that the subscription was cancelled; however I was still billed for it.

What astounds me is that a big corporate like Vodacom freely gives access to all my personal information to outside companies without my consent. They are free to spam me, and have access to my information with support from Vodacom? This is *********, ********** and completely unacceptable.

I want this resolved immediately, with a full reimbur*****t of all subscriptions charged and removed from any and all subscription lists effective immediately.

My response to this:

GraemeDW:
I received a SMS response from your consultant Rashieda Jattiem, stating you would refund me an amount of R159.60.

The amount is incorrect!! It should be R273.67.

Not even a phone call or an apology for my wasted time in having to following up your bad business practices and here I am again having to follow up.

With no contact number for your contact person I have to respond here hoping to reach this anonymous customer care service of yours.

What don't you understand about customer service and trying to alleviate a bad situation and a VERY unhappy customer? What don’t you understand that it is not about the R273.67 that was **********ly taken from me, or the sharing of my personal information or my wasted time in following this up? It is about the dishonesty, the broken trust, the unwillingness to admit your mistakes and the dismissive attitude towards your customers.

How many other customers has this happened to that haven’t bothered going to these lengths to get their money back? You surely have not followed it up and reimbursed your customers, do you just keep it?

Well if it is too much trouble for you to be bothered with my account and keeping me as a customer let me help you out by cancelling my account that I have had with you for the last 15 years.
