VODACOM ADMITTED AT FAULT, BUT REFUSE TO EXPEDITE FOR IMMEDIATE RAMIFICATION!

I sent an email through 13 February 2019 with regards to settling my contract and moving my number over to Prepaid with immediate effect, as advised by VODACOM! With this email I sent the early cancellation invoice, my proof of payment as well as other required documents such as ID etc.

I have not received any response email, nor sms obviously since then as my number is not actively in use (unless visiting South Africa) as we immigrated to the UK in March 2019, hence me cancelling my contract and changing over to prepaid)

A year later on February 16th, 2020 I received an email from Vodacom collections, claiming I owe them money (which obviously I do not) and then rep**** to that email with the above mentioned email along with all the proof of payments etc... Still not getting any sort of reply from Vodacom.

I landed in SA for vacation 21 February 2020, loaded R110 on my SIM, received and sms stating that my PREPAID account has been loaded with the R110 (leading me to believe all was in order) only to find that my SIM is not working. After a tedious phone call with Customer Care on Friday 21st, to get told that my account has been suspended and that it is in arrears. So after a year, not only has my issue been sorted but I have now wasted R110 airtime on a SIM card I can not use.

I phoned cancellations department today, Mon 24 February 2020, and had a lovely, very helpful guy confirming my story, and says that my statement shows my payment last year and that I have done everything right on my part, and he has done his best to escalate the situation for me to be sorted out asap, but unfortunately it wont be sorted out before 7-14 working days.

I am in SA for vacation for lil over a week and I now have to spend this time fighting with vodacom for lack of competence on their part, and to try clear my "financial name" in SA. I can not simply buy another SIM (which I shouldn't have to) as I am unable to RICA it as I don't live here anymore.

So thanks Vodacom, I am stranded in SA with no data while out and about!
