Vodacom Accounts Issues
I has now been the third week in a row where my service has been suspended due to "non-payment". Every month I go on the the "fantastic" MyVodacom app, download my latest statement and make an EFT. For 6+ years I had no issues doing it this way, but the last month over shadows all the good experience I ever had with Vodacom over the years and makes me regret that I renewed my contract in July.
Week 1 (1 August 2019) - I phoned the Call centre, the agent said that she can see I make a payment on the 27th of July , apologised and reconnected my line. It was a little inconvenient but hey, stuff like that happens so I wasn't upset at all.
Week 2 (6 August 2019) - Same story.
Week 3 (13 August 2019) - This is where I get upset. I get an SMS that my line has been suspended, I sigh, I phone the call centre, again. Now all of a sudden I owe R900 according to the customer call centre agent, I owe R5,000 according to the accounts department and I'm R600 in credit according to the MyVodacom App... Huh...? Again, I'm not that upset, these things happen. Eventually I was put through to the accounts department and speak to a really impatient Marcy who "wont argue with me" when I simply asked, in a cool and calm manner, (wish I could get the recording to post here) which month I have missed, knowing that I've been paying my account every month, the same way, for the last 6+ years. She then said: "the MyVodacom app is not accurate I should rather use the statement" So obviously my next question was, why does Vodacom have it then and why are we referred to the app on every hold tone when you try and phone any Vodacom department? Again she did not want to "argue" with me. I was getting frustrated so I requested a statement from Marcy for the last 12 months, so that Marcy and I can go through it together. She said that it is apparently a large file (how large van a pdf documents be?) and it wil take more or less 15min to get to me. I think she really just didn't want to help me. I decided to end the call and wait so that I can do the investigation myself and to avoid more inconvenience for Marcy to help me and still, 24 hours later, still no statement, still no answers, still disconnected.
It feels like, how dare I ask for a statement or disagree with all-mighty Vodacom, I should just pay R5000 no questions asked.
Really regret renewing my contract...
