Vodacom Accounts and Service Complaint

I called Vodacom Customer Care last week as I need a new PC and wanted to ensure my account was in good order and I could add a new contract / line without issue before I went into a iStore. During this conversation it was discovered that there was *****ulent activity using my ID number and I was informed that attempted "deal" was deleted. It is still on my name.

As I was assured I was a "good" customer and could go into an iStore, open a third line on my account and get a PC that's what I attempted to do today at iStore Fourways. When the iStore attempted to open the third line it was declined due to "account being in arrears". A call to Vodacom's accounts number yielded an automated voice system that wouldn't allow me to speak to an actual person as my account "was not in arrears". Yesterday being a public holiday I understood there may have been a backlog in allocating payments. After much back a forth, at least four phone calls to Vodacom and about two hours later I had sent the proof of payment of the payment made yesterday to Vodacom, escalated the matter, had a call back from a "supervisor" who assured me the payment made yesterday was now allocated to my account and I could now activate the third line and get a new PC.

Back at the iStore after a coffee and the requested 30 minute time to allow the allocation to reflect we tried again. Now the decline reason is "client has a declined application in the last 60 days" which is the very application incorrectly declined earlier and rectified. We called Vodacom again only to be told the allocation has still not been done, my account is in arrears and I must try to do this again after 90 days because the declined application is on my Vodacom account and there is "nothing they can do."

This is disgusting "service" from Vodacom of whom I have been a customer of for may years, my account is always paid and in "good standing", I'm extremely dissatisfied with the manner in which Vodacom has handled this entire situation and the don't accept the "sorry there's nothing we can do" "shoulder shrug" response.

Thank you for replying, however it is now midday and I have not received a call from any person at Vodacom to address and rectify this.

Good Day,

I will submit the requested documents regarding the ***** to the e-mail address provided.

Regarding the account status issue that is fine, has the “declined” application I made at the iStore in Fourways been removed and can I re-visit the iStore and get a new PC now?

Regards, Graham
