Vodacom account deleted without any notice/warning
This past Saturday my Vodacom SIM and related services were deleted (I found out two days ago after attempting to discuss on Vodacom's Facebook page).
I have been with Vodacom and on the same number since I was 18 (this is in 2000). I have moved to Australia and converted my contract to prepaid over the phone with Vodacom a couple of years ago.
I have still been using my Vodamail email, as I was not aware there would be any issues or any risk of deactivation as I have not been advised that there is a risk of deactivation at all at the time of conversion to prepaid. I have attempted to topup the contract through my account on several occasions with no success.
I have not been in South Africa recently and there was no way to top it up otherwise.
Vodacom has not been responding/helpful to reactivate and restore my Vodamail account, even if it is just for a couple of days, in order to give me time to get all my important documents from it. I am referring to legal, contract and other email records which I needed to keep related to a police matter in South Africa.
You can't just delete a lifetime of records without any notice to me.
Given that Vodacom knew I was currently in Australia (as discussed at the time of converting my contract to prepaid), they can't just assume that a sms prompt or something would suffice, as I would not have received it.
