Vodacom account

My mother has been contacted b HP Attorneys saying Vodacom have handed her account over to the said attorneys. We have been trying for over a year to get this information out of Vodacom and they say they cannot help as account handed over. My mother has never had an account with Vodacom. She is on a prepaid sim card. HP Attorneys are now waiting to send a Final Letter of Demand but we have clue what this account is for.
