Vodacom - a den of lies and awfully bad service

In April I cancelled my contract with Vodacom. Without my knowledge after my contract was ended Vodacom decided to mark my account in arrears (my account was paid up).

20 June 2017 11: 07 I called and spoke to a Nicolene in new accounts, she informed me that she couldnt open the account for me and tranfered me to another department. Ntombi answered my call and explained that I couldnt open an account because my account was in arrears. after inspecting my account she noted that i was in a 0 balance and did not owe any money.

Ntombi then transfered me to another lady who then proceeded to action the status change to allow me to open up a contract. she promised in 2 hours I would have my status changed.

Second call 13:32, spoke to Amelia she said my status was still showing that I am in arrears, ahe transfered me to customer care (Mzwaki) where i wanted to lay a complaint. I was informed that I need to email my complaints. I checked Vodacom's website and saw that the email function has been removed and that one needed to call the customer care line to explain the complaint. So another waste of my time.

Third Call 14:58, spoke to Londi who informed me that my status STILL hadnt changed. He said i needed to call back again in 2 hours for my status to change.

Fourth call 16:57 Spoke to Lerato who informed me my status had finally changed and he sent me on to another department to open up my contract. Transfered to Martin who informed me that I could not open up my contract becuase of my prepaid account not being open for longer than 6 months.

This frustrated me as this was the first time I'd heard this after a day of calling Vodacom.

I asked for the manager or team leader to assist me as I was getting no where in my conversation with Martin. I waited for more than 20 minutes to speak to a team leader Thokzile.

She then proceeded to tell me that I have a bad credit rating. This rating could only have been bad because they had incorrectly marked me in arrears! Thokzile's approach in dealing with me was to further aggravate a frustrated customer. Speaking over me and not allowing me to explain my situation.

There was no thought to custmer satisfaction or any thought to solution. She told me she could only assist me tomorrow before close of business. Why could she not proiritise my issue?

A whole day wasted trying to get someone at Vodacom to actually do what they are supposed to do.

Not only has Vodacom frustrated me and wasted my time but they have also affected my credit score!

My financial intergrity has been compromised and that is unacceptable!

Called customer care today and was advised that I needed to call accounts so that they can apologise to me.
I'm trying to understand companies where the people within the organisation continuosly try to pass the buck onto their other departments. Service delivery remains poor.
