Vodacom a Corporate bully and Lacks customer service

Good afternoon, On November 2020, I called Vodacom 2 months before my 2 year contract requesting that I would not like to upgrade. I also sent everything in writing to their business. A month before a immigrated in February 2021, I called to confirm that my number should be deactivated in full as of end March 2021 to be told that I had been upgraded for another 24 months.

I called several times waiting to clarify this, and was told a investigation needed to be done against the agent that upgraded me. therefore, they need to access the voice recoding. Was then put in contact with Altech Altron who manages this for them. I had soptted debit orders on the accounut until this has been resolved. It has now been 2 months with no feedback from Vodacom, even-though I email them weekly to follow up. I have just received a notice of non payment, but I cannot get any traction from them. They have refused to use my proof of cancellation emails, and will not supply me with the recoding where I called in to cancel the contract in 2020. What can we do to stop bullying from large corporates?

Thank you for taking the time to resolve this - I also want to commend Marvin for his ability to remain focussed and constructive in the call. once the balance reflects for the amount due I am happy to immediately settle this and continue my debit order as per arrangements for the laptop.

Okay, I've been following up on the above refund and invoice I need to pay, I got a reply from the customer service agent trying to call me on a number that was confirmed as deleted by Vodacom on the 19th of July - Are you guys serious!!!!!???

Please send me the proof of refund as promised by Marvin in this thread on Hello Peter, and send me the correct invoice! Seriously, Must I honestly beg you for a honest service here!

Below is the private reply from Marvin, this week I emailed Vodacom to follow up on the refund and invoice and got the below reply after that.

Thank you for the time and effort taken to voice your dissatisfaction to our office. It is with the cooperation and feedback from valued clients such as yourself that we are able to identify any areas of improvement within our organisation.

Thank you for taking our call.

As per our telephonic discussion, we loaded the cancellation on number ***, effective 30/06/2021. As discussed, we credited the invoices from January 2021 – June 2021 and will reflect on your Vodacom account within 24 – 48 hours. Please note that the account balance at the moment is R4929.82, once credit reflects the balance will be reduced. Kindly ensure that the balance is paid in order to settle this month balance.

Good day Veronica Thank you for your email. I tried calling you on *** but calls were routed to your voice mail box, I also tried *** but calls were routed to subscriber unavailable. Kindly note that reason for my call was to advise you that you do not have a debit order as a payment method due to your account being in arrears. Please see below the available payment options. A manual payment can be made to your Vodacom account at the following banks: * Standard Bank: Fill in M65 deposit slip at the Standard Bank counter, fill in the customer account including the check digit.(e.g. I***/8) * ABSA Bank: Complete a normal ABSA deposit slip and include customer's account number as reference (e.g. I***/8). * FNB: Customers must present their Vodacom Statement at the teller (No deposit slip required by FNB for payments made to Vodacom). Alternatively, you can make an internet payment. In order to do so, select Vodacom (Pty) Ltd under the Bank's list of beneficiaries, enter your Vodacom account e.g. I***8 (omit the /) as the reference number. Your customer account number can be found on your monthly statement and by sending the keyword AN to 31050 Once payment has been made, please fax the proof of payment to our Accounts Department on *** or e-mail to *** Hope you find the above in order.
