Vodacom! A contract or a ploy?

Vodacom advertises promotions, offers and upgrades. It is not the first time I have noted that when ordering on these advertised upgrade with included devises. It would seem that they advertise goods they don't have, never had and sometimes I am not sure can even source. It is about catching the customers attention and frustrating them until they take an alternative devise that they never wanted. Its a contract when the customer is bound, but Vodacom cannot or will not deliver.

Its very simple when they have you in the store and caught you attention via the add to say out of stock. Last time this happened it was the day the latest promotion was published......... Out of stock? No false advertising and an effective sales plot.

I upgraded a contract more than a month ago and was advised it will be delivered via the normal courier they use in a week or so? A week later I called as I had not received anything and the excuses started. I have followed up each time now on the date they suggested it will arrive and given another date. 4 times?

Today when I called the only positive was that they never promised a new date. Instead they advised me that item is on back order and back-orders can take up to 30 working days. It works out that I have been waiting now 25 working days. So I said to the lady that this then suggest Monday 28 September 2020 as we have a public holiday coming next week. The lady stopped me and said no this can take 30 working days or longer.... A Little open ended that may or may never arrive? You always told about the recording on these calls.

Where is the record of the promises or is it not in Vodacoms best interest now?

It is interesting that when I did recieve a call from Vodacom, it was just to make excuses and point out that the terms and conditions include while stocks last and if the item is on backorder so be it.

Sad that the lowest score you can give is 1/5 stars.

Vodacom does not deserve a star for the performance, effort or service.

Frustrated has been customer.
