Vodacom a bunch of con artists!!!

After wanting to cancel my contract with Vodacom in Oct 2017 to move to another network which offered much better value for money, I was enticed and convinced by a Siphelele Jeli from Vodacom's retentions department to stay on with them after it was agreed upon that she would structure my contract with similar data and minutes and THE SAME MONTHLY FEE of the other network I was interested in all for the entire duration of the contract (24months). This was eventually done but not without me having to call in every month to have the proper allocation of minutes and data as promised. I was charged the agreed upon fee of R229 from Nov 17 till Apr 18 (6 months), but since May 18 am being charged R 279 per month. This is not what Vodacom has agreed to as I have written confirmation from Vodacom that I would be charged R 229 x 24 months. Upon querying this, Vodacom has informed me that the price for my package has increased and there is nothing they or I can do about it. Numerous e-mails to Siphelele Jeli from Vodacom about this have just been ignored as well. What Vodacom fail to realize is that they structured a deal for me which I have in writing from them in order to remain on the network, so I do not have a standard package which can be increased when all your packages go up...which is nonsense anyway. I have a reference number for this query which I raised with Vodacom, but am being ignored in whatever avenue I take. This is a huge breach of what Vodacom has agreed to with me, and I need this sorted out now, including a refund for the extra money debited from my account since May which Vodacom had no authority to do whatsoever!!!!

Dear Vodacom No consultant has made contact. Instead I received a text message saying that I received notification about the price increase in the package. You fail to realize this simple fact...your retentions department negotiated a package fee of R229 per month for 24 months for me to remain on the network...so there should be NO increases as per our agreement...whether Vodacom increases their tariff or not. Please sort this out immediately as I have all this in writing from your retentions department and will report this to the Consumer Protection services now!!!

I have responded to your feedback...but of course if I respond anywhere else but here I just get ignored...so... Dear Vodacom YOU DON’T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND… This is an extract from the mail of your retentions agent… From: Siphelele Jeli ********** Sent: 02 October 2017 04:53 PM To: Sewkarran Preshan Subject: Re: URGENT: Amazing FreeMe deals with FREE music streaming Good day, As per our converstaion, you will be receiving 200 anytime any network minutes per month, 200 SMS’s per month and 500MB plus an additional 10GB Free for the first 3 months, thereafter 500MB plus an additional 5GB for the remainder of the contract. The monthly charge for the contract and all included above will be R229pm x 24. The reason you received the 10GB before the package has kicked in, is because i had manually activated it when i Deactivated the 1GB. I understand on your Proposed invoice it shows as a charged amount but rest assured it is activated as a free service therfore you will not be charged on your invoice for October, November and December Month. Thank you, ________________________________________ From: Sewkarran Preshan ********** Sent: Monday, October 2, 2017 2:09 PM To: Siphelele Jeli Cc: Laetitia Christian Subject: RE: URGENT: Amazing FreeMe deals with FREE music streaming Good day I have received my upgrade handset today, with no documentation as to what I will receive monthly with my contract. We have agreed upon 200 anytime any network minutes per month, 200 SMS’s per month and 500MB plus an additional 10GB for the first 3 months, thereafter 500MB plus an additional 5GB for the remainder of the contract. The monthly charge for the contract and all included above will be R229pm x 24. Please send me a confirmation in writing that this is correct before I open the handset because my account shows that I have been credited and charged for 10GB of data this month, whereas the new package should only kick in on 01/11/2017 and I should not even be charged for that. Also, my 1 GB of data at an additional R49 should only be cancelled when the new package starts, not now. Please confirm all this immediately, and also that I will pay my normal old subscription until the end of October and not a cent more, thereafter R229 a month. If I do not get a response within 24 hours, I will cancel my contract with Vodacom and report this matter to The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA). I have called the call centre numerous times to confirm all of this and no one can assist. Thank you Your retentions team promised me certain things to remain on the network, one of them being a monthly rate of R229 (as I would be paying with the new network I wanted to move to) for the entire duration of the 24 month contract. They should not have done that if they could not guarantee it…and I would have moved to the new network as I wanted to. So since you don’t keep your end of the deal, please cancel my contract with immediate effect (without any penalties as this is YOUR doing) as I refuse to be **** to. Alternately...stick to our agreement please. Please provide feedback asap, and if this is not sorted out I will be taking it to the National Consumer Commission and the Independent Communications Authority of SA Thank you.
