Vodacom

I purchased a brand-new Samsung Galaxy A26 on contract from the Vodacom Waterfront branch (Cape Town) on Monday. From the first day of use, I experienced serious internal volume issues. I struggle to hear calls clearly, and at times can barely hear at all. This is a critical problem for me as I am a restaurant manager and rely on my phone to stay in contact with my boss throughout the evening. I returned to the store, where Vodacom ran diagnostics and confirmed the fault exists. Despite this, I have now had to visit the store three times, repeatedly leaving my place of work, with no resolution. The Waterfront branch manager, Byron, insists that my less-than-7-day-old device must be sent to head office for further diagnostics and that I must use an old loan phone in the meantime. This is unacceptable. I contracted a brand-new phone, not a repaired unit or a refurbished loan device.

Under the Consumer Protection Act, I am entitled to a replacement . It is frustrating that I have a brand new phone and cannot hear on a phone call. I am formally refusing repair or a loan phone and requesting a replacement device immediately. The service from the Vodacom Waterfront branch has been extremely disappointing, unhelpful, and dismissive. I am escalating this publicly as private channels have not resolved the issue.
