Vodacom 3G Connection

I have been using the Vodacom 3G connection to the Internet for more than five years with mixed results.

For a day or two at a time I would have uninterupted connection but most days I was lucky to stay connected for more than ten minutes and the connection wouls be dropped and I would haveto re-connect. On a bad day, I wouldn't even be able to re-connect! Consequently I cancelled my 3G connection by simply walking into the local Vodacom shop and cancelling. No problem.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a WiFi signal where I was living at the time so I simply got another SIM card for the ****le and carried on. I had no option but to accept Vodacoms poor reliability.

I then moved house and the 3G connection was for all practical purposes impossible so I tried WiFi again. Brilliand, fast continuose service. To-day I tried to cancell my 3G contract. Oh boy was I in for a rude awakening!

I couldn't do thia at the local Vodacom shop but I had to phone through to ********** . Unsurprisingly I had to go through the usual "Press 1 to pick your nose. Press2 to scratch you bottom. Press 3 etc.". Eventually I got through to a warm body. She was very sweet and after the usual few identity questions I asked to cancel the 3G contract. Oh boy that was when the true colours of Vodacom were shown.

Not only couldn't simply cancel the contract but I would be charged a fee to do so! When asked what the fee would be the poor little girl couldn't tell me. The system was occupied by some other task. I could only get the cancellation fee on the fifth of December by which time I would be liable for the December fee!

To summarise. I have to pay a fee to cancell a contract which Vodacom doesn't fulfil. I also haveto pay and additioal month for the privalige. You have been warned!

Bet "in due course" never happens. Had the same problen with you lot a few years ago regarding your "carry over" which isn't a real carry over. Still waiting for that "due course" to happen.
