Vodacom
During the period of February 2019 to March 2019 I cancelled one of my contracts with Vodacom only to discover in June 2019 that it hasn't been cancelled.
In June 2019 I attempted to open a new account and this was when I was informed that because the cancellation of the forementioned account had not been completed on the companies side, an arrears amount had accumulated which had negatively affected my credit rating.
After approximately 20 visits to the Vangate Mall branch of Vodacom, ranging between 30 - 45 minutes per visit, I am still waiting for this situation to be sorted out.
27th Feb 2019 was first time an email was sent requesting the cancellation and Vodacom only responded on the 8th March 2019. We responded immediately confirming the cancellation. Vodacom ensured that the cancellation would be done end March. Email dated 14th March 2019. During the period of waiting for a response, from 27th February to 8th March 2019, another email was sent on the 04th March instructing cancellation.
When I attempted taking out a new contract in June 2019, I was informed that this would not be possible as my account had been handed over to the Vodacom Legal Department because of the arrears the "cancelled" account incurred. In an attempt to remedy this, I had paid the outstanding balance amounting to approximately R2000 and requested a clearance letter as to avoid being tarnished by this incident which was not because of any doing on my part.
It is now August and I have received yet another invoice/statement informing me that an amount of R700 plus, needs to be paid at the end of the month.
So once again I'm having to pay for a contract which, to my knowledge should have been cancelled in March
Could someone who knows what is happening at Vodacom contact wrt to this matter or you will leave me with no choice but to take this matter further. I have all necessary correspondence and will forward it to the ombudsman should you not resolve this matter within the next 48hours
I can be contacted via email ***
