I was recently conned into a new contract when I did not want a new contract. I phoned to cancel a contract that was used by my son and was asked if I would like to make my contract more affordable, I said I would and they put me onto a new package. Unbeknown to me I had agreed to a new 2 year contract. This was never explained to me at the time and I was under the impression that my existing contract was being downgraded to a less expensive contract. I find it strange that I have now got a new contract and did not get a device, if I had taken this contract out in a store I would have got a device included. When querying this with customer service I was told that there is nothing I can do and I just need to accept that I have a new contract. I asked for the recording of my conversation and was told that I could only get it in a Vodacom store. I went to the Vodacom store in Lakeside mall and was told that they can’t give me the recording as they do not have access to that information. Now how is this customer service? Vodacom are selling these contracts under false pretext and just don’t give a dam how they handle customers. Unfortunately now I have a contract that I can’t afford as I am unemployed, when this contract is finished I will be looking else ware for my cell phone needs. I just wonder if any of the other service providers are any better. They just seem to be a law unto themselves.
