Vodacom

My dad had a Vodacom account with a seperate number for my mom. He passed away three weeks ago. After being given the runaround for about a week she finally managed to speak to someone on Friday last week at the Vodacom Cradle Stone Mall who seemed to be able to help.

Since Friday nothing has happened. Her phone is still disconnected. I spoke to a very disinterested consultant at the customer care centre (Leonard?) who advised me that only a branch can change accounts from one person to another.

Yesterday afternoon I phoned Darryll at Cradlestone who said that the matter can only be sorted by customer care. Be promised that he will phone them again and make sure the numbers work.

My mom received an sms that one of the numbers has been transferred to another account and that the specific number is working. It is not.

She totally relies on her phone for communication. Last Friday her neighbours had an attempted burglary. My mom was traumatised as she couldn't phone anybody.

How do I sort this out? Customer care insists that Cradlestone sorts it out an Cradlestone insists that Customer Care must sort it out.

In the meantime my mother doesn't have a working number. I doubt whether Vodacom will accept liability if something should happen to her?

Maybe MTN is the better connection after all.

Eugene Peyper on behalf of Mrs E J Peyper
