Vodacom 2 Year Handset Warranty Useless.

I handed in my Huawei P7 Ascend in on the 26th November 2016 as the charger burnt inside the phone and damaged the charging port. This handset was handed in at the vodacom shop in eastrand mall-the galleria side or "East Point." As far as understand when a phone goes in for repairs Vodacom should offer a borrowed handset which was never offered. Later that week we were told my phone was irreparable, my husband then called for a reason as to why. They told him it was physical damage as the back of the phone was cracked. He explained that I had dropped the phone two weeks after I recieved the new handset on the 30th December 2014. The phone never had any problems after I dropped it and I never had it repaired as it was working. Herman at Vodacom then said it would be sent to the advanced repair centre.

We then recieved an e-mail from Soneni saying the phone would cost R2599 to repair. We then mailed and explained we had spoken to Herman and then we were told to ignore the quote. It then got sent to as I understand Huawei itself and they then said it is not a manufacturing fault so again the quote stands as is.

I then had to call the repair centre centre and waited on the phone whilst the person on duty was explaining to a colleague WHAT TIME SHE GOT TO THE TAXI RANK-her name? Meyelani. She then said they had decided to replace my handset which would cost R2599. How is that replacing my handset? A handset which costs R2999 brand new-vodacom wants me to pay R2599 for a refurbished unit. Please explain to me how that makes sense? I then told them to send my handset back as I will not be paying for a phone which was under Warranty when I handed it in. On the 28December 2016 a msg was sent to my phone saying the handset was being dispatched from the Advanced repair centre at Eastgate. Until now I have not recieved a call to say it has been recieved at the East Rand Mall. I also requested a mail expalining why the phone was not repaired. We have not recieved feedback. Apparently there is no urgency in returning a phone which cannot apparently be repaired at Vodacoms cost. Or is it because I was able to upgrade my phone this month, that it is not necessary.

I dont see why we have a two year Warranty when one cannot even use it. The Charger burning was most certainly not out of negligence and as I was explained to they cannot say wat caused it to burn that way.
