Vodacom

To whom it may Concern

I think there is a serious breach somewhere in Vodacom.

02/02/2017: I get a sms that says a sim swop has been generated on my account.

I immediately callled Vodacom and ask them to stop the sim swop as I have not asked for one, a few hours later, my phone stops working, i call Vodacom again, just to let me tell me that after I phoned and blocked the sim swop that somebody called and did it anyway. So i was stuck without a phone for something i tried to stop. They said the only way for me to get my number back is to do a sim swop that I have to pay for!!That was so shocking as i had to pay to get something back that I did not want in the first place. I had to change all my banking details, so that the people can’t get access to it, as they also had all the security answers that is supposedly there to protect me.

03/02/2017: I went to Vodacom shop in George, I did a sim swop at around 16:15,they said my phone will be back and working at around 20:00.My phone only started working at around 13:00 the next day.

04/02/2017: After numerous phone calls to the Vodacom shop, my phone eventually could get incoming calls, but my phone was blocked. I called the shop again and they said will speak to the head office to get my line back on. They called me back and explained that my line will be up and running in about 4-6 hours. That would have been great if it actually happened.

05/02/2017: Went to the Vodacom Shop in the Garden Route Mall, there I was told my line was still blocked because of a short payment of R25. Needles to say i just paid it, did not even bother to check if it was needed, because I needed my phone back in working order. I must say when I checked my account on the Wednesday there was nothing in arrears. The guy at the shop said it will be working by that afternoon, needles to say my phone was not working.

06/02/2017: I phoned the Vodacom shop as the call centre is useless. They said they will call me back, but i have not heard anything. That is not 4 days without a phone. That i did not ask for..
