Vodacom 14 day cooling off period : cancellation not happening

Cell number ***: I phoned Vodacom cancellations on *** to cancel the contract of above number on 13 May 2025. The lady who helped me with cancellation of the number (Nonkomse) on 13 May was a very good salesperson and convinced my husband and I to rather upgrade to a new phone with 160 min talktime @ R169 per month for 36 months. The phone was delivered on 15 May and we immediately realised that we can not afford it neither need another phone. After we read about the cooling off period of 14 days we phoned Vodacom again on the 19th May at 16h40 (***) and spoke to Lavishni who were wonderful and understood that we are retired and can not afford another contract. She flagged the upgrade to be reversed and the number to be cancelled. She said we would receive a SMS and email to confirm the cancellation and somebody will come and pick up the phone from us. We waited for the confirmation did but not received any. On Monday 26 May at 09:48 we again phoned *** and spoke to Amanda. This time I told her that I am recording the call and she was ok with it. She spoke with her manager Mason and said the matter was escalated and their admin people only work 5 days per week and are behind on their work. I clarified the "Contract Refunds (14 day return)" fine print on the back of the tax invoice received together with the phone with Amanda. She said that I must not take the phone to any shop because it was delivered to my door and someone will pick it up from me and she confirmed that I was still within the 14-day cooling-off period and must not worry further. Up to today I have not received any confirmation via SMS or email that the order was cancelled. Today, 31 May at 01:25 I received a SMS stating that my upgrade order *** for Vodacom number *** has been completed and has been extended to 30/05/28 and should I have any queries I must visit www.vodacom.co.za which I did but could not find anywhere to send a email to about this cancellation which was ignored by Vodacom. Vodacom have billed me for R169 to be deducted from my bank after I phoned them twice to have it cancelled. The previous contract was for R80 which I could not afford and now they bill me more than double after cancellation. Not happy.
