VODACOM: 10 Years of Loyalty & Premium Payments – Yet Left Feeling Betrayed and Unprotected

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with how Vodacom has handled my insurance claim and treated me as a customer.

I have paid my Vodacom insurance for more than 10 years, yet when I finally needed to use it, I was given information that appears to have been incorrect. At the Zvenwacht Mall branch, Mr Quinton Arendse told me that the Betterment Benefit had been s****ped. I later visited another Vodacom store and was told that this was not true. I re**** on the information given to me and accepted an Honor X7e, despite clearly explaining that I require a 5G device for work and frequent travel between provinces.

The situation was made worse by an incorrect SIM swap, repeated trips to the store, setup issues and signal problems. I have had to spend my own time and fuel costs travelling back and forth to resolve problems that were not caused by me.

What has frustrated me most is how my complaint was handled by Colleen Wilson. I found the interaction utterly unprofessional and dismissive and felt as though she simply wanted to end the call rather than properly address my concerns. I was essentially told to take the phone back to the store, despite the time and money I have already lost. I was also offered a loan device that still does not meet my requirement for 5G.

After 10 years of paying for insurance, I expected accurate information, proper assistance and accountability. Instead, I feel *misled, ignored and left to carry the cost of Vodacom’s own mistakes. I am calling on Vodacom to properly investigate this matter and provide a fair resolution, including a 5G-capable device that meets my work requirements and consideration of the unnecessary costs and inconvenience I have experienced.

Reviewer Update
All good and well that you acknowledge the complaint online but behind the scenes, it has taken the Vodacom team over 72 hours to provide any form of meaningful correspondence. Even now the email communication I have received simply confirms that there is still no outcome or resolution regarding the old device, nor any clear indication of when I will receive a proper device that actually meets my needs.
This is extremely disappointing, especially considering that I have been a paying customer for over 10 years. After a decade of loyalty and consistently paying my premiums, I am left asking myself: what exactly have I been paying for if, when I genuinely need assistance, I am met with unnecessary problems, delays and additional stress?
Acknowledging a complaint is not the same as actually addressing or resolving it. As a customer, I expect timely communication, accountability and meaningful progress towards a resolution not simply confirmation that my complaint has been received.
After waiting more than 72 hours, I believe it is completely reasonable to expect a proper update, a clear outcome and a definitive indication of when this matter will actually be resolved. I should not have to continuously follow up to get answers regarding a matter that should have been handled with urgency from the outset. I expected better treatment, better communication and most importantly a solution not additional frustration and stress.
