Voda-useless

My Vodacom cellphone was due for an upgrade late last year. I waited patiently as there was no stock of the phone that I requested due to global shortages. This is acceptable and beyond Vodacom's control. I have no issue with that.

I called back in February of this year, where a lady told me I would go onto a list to wait for the new phone. I was informed that she would contact me every month to update me on the latest deals as they changed on the 7th of each month. Again, I understood and accepted that. I never received another phone and it was the start of my problems.

2 weeks ago, I contacted Vodacom online again to request an upgrade. I was told there was stock and that I could upgrade. I was delighted. Then, suddenly, I was informed that I had a low credit rating and did not qualify for the latest phone. This despite the fact that I was talking to Vodacom on a phone far newer than they could offer me. When I queried why I had a low credit rating, I was informed that maybe a late payment or a bounced payment had taken place. I informed the operator that I was on debit order, had been a Vodacom client since the mid 1990's and never missed a payment. Again, I was told that it was beyond their control and I had to contact TransUnion to query my credit status.

I contacted TransUnion, who informed me that I had a good credit rating. They informed me that I had 2 Vodacom accounts which I disputed. The one account was a data account that had been cancelled in 2019. It still registered on the credit account.

Again, I contacted Vodacom. They assured me that they would send me a letter to confirm that the data account had been settled and was closed. The letter was due to arrive this week, by Wednesday at the latest. Needless to say I still do not have a letter.

I received another 2 calls from Vodacom this week offering me new phone deals. Each time I accept the offer. The first call informed me that they had no stock of the phone I wanted. The second caller, I have just got off the line with them, has told me the wonderful news that all my accounts with Vodacom have been closed. I have never closed my account with Vodacom. Now, apparently, I need to go into a shop to reopen my account that I never closed.

When you contact the call centre, it is almost impossible to speak to someone as you are pushed from pillar to post. The company is inept and cannot do anything. The stress that I have been caused by their inefficiency from informing me I have a low credit rating to now being informed that my account is suspended is immense. And do you think that big conglomerate will give a hoot about me?

They don't care. They are useless and impersonal. I do not recommend Vodacom. I would give it negative stars if I could.
