Voda-be-***ed

A few months ago, I was contacted by a Vodacom agent who asked me to upgrade my contract and phone. Part of the package was an Apple I14 phone. I, like a fool agreed to the upgrade. I was informed that there was insurance on the phone. It took longer than expected to have the phone delivered. It eventually was. At the exact same time, I was rushed to hospital for an emergency neck procedure. Whilst in hospital ( my phone was at home ) it was ******. I called Vodacom to claim for the theft, opened a case number at SAPS. Went to Apple store and had the phone backlisted and blocked. This is where the **** show of Vodacom starts. Apparently if the sim card was not inserted into the phone, then the insurance becomes null and void. This was NEVER explained to me. For MONTHS I have been back and forth trying to get the voice recording from the company who on Vodacom’s behalf, offered the contract. Initially I was told 10 working days to get the voice recording, then I called again and was told that nothing had been logged so I had to wait another 10 working days. 3rd time lucky?? No chance. I was then told that I needed to go to a Vodacom store and request it from there. Which I did. Another 10 days…. 10 days again, I went back to the Vodacom store…by this time it was December. I am now still waiting for the recording which was never sent. Imagine you buy a phone at a Vodacom store in the mall. You walk back to your car, and you are ****** on the way. You take out insurance thinking you are covered. Yet you are actually not, because you didn’t insert your sim card. So typical this bullying bull**** from a ****ing company like Vodacom, you as the customer is still held liable to make the +_R3000 payment per month for a phone which you don’t have. I have done everything in my power to report and block the phone as what a honest citizen would do. All one gets back is the shut door treatment form a company like Vodacom It is blatantly ********* to pay for insurance and then try to use a clause that because the sim card was not inserted that they wont cover it. To ALL the potential Voda-be-***ed customers out there. Beware of the greatest **** masters around. May MAKATE take you to the cleaners and force the closure of your doors, then you will know what it feels like to be ****ed over by someone bigger than you.
