Vocacom is throttling internet connections.
Signed up for wireless internet connection in February 2021. First year the connection speed was: ping 25ms, download 55.33Mbps & upload 16.50Mbps. My online gaming was a breeze. Beginning of March 2022, the connection started dropping. Ping 33ms, download 34.46Mbps & upload 14.40Mbps. Some evenings the upload would drop to below 5Mbps. NOW HERE IS THE KICKER. Since March 2022 two IP's: 41.1.176.29 & 192.168.8.134 has started scanning by router's UDP ports. A security warning came up on my logs in the Huawei router. "Detect UDP port scan attack, scan packet from 41.1.176.29" Those two IP's belong to Vodacom. One of them is in Cape Town. Vodacom is unable to explain this and not trying to resolve this. I might not be an IT specialist, but do know that if Vodacom can't explain this or come back to me, then my conclusion is sound. I did write to Vodacom, and as from this date, they have not contacted me in this regard.
