Violating my consumer rights as per the CP Act
I have been a customer of MTN for more than 15 yrs and a customer of Vodacom for a number of yrs. I am a professional person with limited time who needs a phone for business purposes. In Dec 2014 I decided to move my contract to Vodacom on the basis that I thought the customer service at Vodacom was at a higher level. Before I made the decision and signed a contract, I made sure I have investigated all options carefully. Subsequently I was advised that they made a mistake agreeing to the package I signed for. I was prepared to cancel the deal and return the phone. I was told this is not possible. I lodged numerous complaints via all possible routes with no response. In the meanhwile the handset became faulty and was send in for repairs. It was returned faulty. I am now billed against the agreement, are without a phone, lost all my data on my faulty handset and do not receive ANY feedback from Vodacom regarding my numerous attempts to get a senior person to contact me. I am appauled at the fact that Vodacom is the company of the month according to Helopeter. I trust that I will at least now get a call back from a knowledgeable person at Vodacom. I want my contract to be cancelled.
