Victim of ***** once again!!!! VODACOM

So I am a victim of ***** once AGAIN. I once had a Vodacom contract with you guys back in 2011/2013 I can’t remember the exact dates, an upgrade was done without my consent and someone took out a Samsung phone with my details and I was billed for it. I reported the matter and your forensic department found out that it was a case of identity theft, probably an inside job and the matter was sorted out and the bill was cancelled on m account.

So I decided to give Vodacom the benefit of the doubt and I kept the number and migrated to prepaid as my contract has ended. In 2015 I took out another contract phone using the same number, everything was going smoothly until the 23rd of May 2017 when I saw an email from Vodacom which was sent on the 19th of May 2017 sending me an OTP number. So I went on your website to check what upgrade deals I qualify for as I was planning to upgrade since my upgrade date was on the 10th of May 2017 and I got a shock when I put in my number and a message popped up that I had done a swim swap in the last 30 days and that my number does not qualify for an upgrade.

I called your call centre to find out what was happening on my account and they confirmed that a swim swap was done on the 19th of May 2017. What worries me is in my case these incidents happened on my upgrade months and now I am worried that another phone might have been taken by the culprit using my details. I fail to understand why you allow such things to happen to customers; don’t you have security measures in place to prevent such cases? I AM EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED WITH VODACOM.

All I want now is to get another sim card, your call centre advised that I go to a Vodacom shop and give them my ID they will give me another sim card as I need to get my monthly airtime up until my contract ends in August 2017. I just want to pay off my contract and do away with Vodacom; I will never EVER take out a contract of any kind with Vodacom again. I don’t trust your services anymore, if this is an inside job then you have hired *********. I want this mess sorted out and I hope I won’t be getting invoices asking me to pay for an upgrade I did not ask for because of your own negligence. I will no longer be upgrading and I don’t want this ********** 417 number anymore once my contract ends. You can cancel it.

Please contact me on ********** 779. I will not give out my details on this site. Hoping to get a favourable response from you soon, otherwise will take up this matter further.
