Vexing Vodacom

On the 30/12/15 I started blocking messages from Vodacom that were telling me that I had no data bundles. I chose to have no data bundles because once a data bundle is used up, Vodacom happily devours your airtime. But the blocked messages still showed up as blocked messages on my phone, which was irritating.

I first rep**** with OUT, STOP, END, as they were options given to stop harassment. I called customer care at least 8 times, and was told of different numbers to message in order to stop the messages that I was blocking.

I then e-mailed customer care, telling them that in spite of all of my endeavours, I was still receiving the wretched notifications. They sent me mails asking me to verify my ID, address etc, which I duly did – many times. They also sent me mails to say that my problem had been forwarded to technical support, and I would receive confirmation within 24 – 48 working hours. I received many reassurances that the problem had been dealt with – but the unwanted messages continued. They asked me for screenshots as proof, and I supp**** those too.

I sent a replying e-mail yesterday, saying that I was still receiving their messages that they’d assured me they had stopped, and they again asked me for my details. I refuse to deal with customer care anymore. They are useless. It’s the same problem – just fix it already!

I am still receiving the same messages that you said had been stopped. So what do I do now?

I continue to receive these very annoying messages, and Vodacom seems to have made no effort to stop them. They need a negative rating.
