Very poor service
99,9% of all the reviews my wife and I do are always positive and thankful, giving credit where it is due. If we however do a negative review I assure you it is only because of very poor, pathetic service and/or bad attitude.
Senah assisted with the upgrade transaction and was very helpful and professional, thanks so much.
However today during the file transfer from her old phone to the new phone at Vodacom Richards Bay everything went very wrong. She was told by Xavier that it would take 40 mins for the file transfer from the old phone to the new phone, she walked around and kept herself busy for 40 mins. Then when she arrived back at Vodacom she was told it would take another 30 mins, again she wondered around passing time and went back after 30 mins. She was then told to fetch the phone at 18:30 more than an hour later. Again she kept herself busy. When she arrived at Vodacom at 18:30 the phone was still not ready, at 18:55 it was only on 90% file transfer complete. She eventually left the shop at 19:30 and the transfer was still not complete, she was promised it will happen automatically at 02:00 tomorrow during a backup. So all in all it took more than 3 to 4 hours for a service we pay for and was promised 40 mins.
Who does that to another human being? This is total disrespect and disregard of the client's well being and time. Also putting my wife at risk exiting the mall alone and driving at night while we know crime is prevalent in South Africa. Someone should have told her that it would take 3 to 4 hours then at least she could have planned her afternoon better.
The technician working on the phone was kind and apologetic. Xavier however has an attitude and I feel he did not show the relevant basic common courtesy or respect that my wife deserved, especially given the curcumstances above. He needs to seriously work on his customer relations and public relations skills. We will not do business with Vodacom Richards Bay in future, due to his attitude. Very dissapointed as a very long time customer.
Adding insult to injury, when I checked my wife's phone's WhatsApp to try figure out where she was, Vodacom Richards Bay was online in her WhatsApp. So what happened about the POPI Act? Why does anyone from Vodacom need to go into her WhatsApp messages while transferring files? I will be getting legal advice regarding this incident and will not leave it there. I took a screen shot showing the time, proving Vodacom was on her WhatsApp while they were in posession of her phone and she was not.
This is rediculous and unbevielable that your privacy means nothing when dealing with Vodacom. Plus its against the law.
In my entire life this is by far the worst customer service that I have ever experienced from any company ever. Vodacom clearly do not in any way care about their clients.
