Very poor customer service

Bought a brand new LG last year. It stopped working early this year. The box had no IMEI number on it, went into several stores, they couldn't find it on the system or on the phone. Eventually someone at canal walk centre found the serial number on the battery (where previous consultants had also looked). They took in my phone for repairs on the 16th of June. SMS'd me to say it will cost over R600 to fix. The phone is still under warrantee, but apparantly there is an issue with the battery which is not covered as it is seen as an "accessory" - really?! Something crucial to the phone functioning is an accessory? Anyhow, I have asked several times for a technician to call me to explain the cost, is it just the battery, are there other faults, how long will it take etc, no one is bothered with helping me. Haven't even received a quote for the repairs. How do you get decent help or service from vodacom? Seems like it is only possible if you complain.
