Very angry - loyal - Vodacom Customer.

How on earth must one run a business with Vodacom as a service provider that provides a non existent 'service'? I have been with Vodacom for over 20 years now. 10 as a pre paid customer and 10 years as a contract customer. And every time something like this happens I vow to move to another service provider, but I'm stymied each time. Firstly Vodacom has the only coverage near my home and secondly every time I call the cancellations department they give me an excuse as to why they cannot process my cancellation. This is now the last straw. While away on holiday, randomly, all of our contract lines that my husband and I use for our businesses suddenly started being re-routed to a voice recording, explaining that our lines were suspendered and to call customer care or visit a Vodacom shop. Which we did. To our distress and frustration we were informed that a limit had been exceeded and therefor the accounts all suspended. This was a bit of a surprise as I had never been informed of 'limits' or what ours was. Furthermore the current account due for payment was only R1700 odd whereas many other months our bill can be as much as R3000. So why now had it suddenly changed. Just before the end of the year? The Vodacom shop could not help me and told me that I would need to call customer care. Which I did. Now apparently Vodacom who claim they have the right and access to our credit history and bank information, have taken it upon themselves to reduce my current limit to R1200 per month. Which is lower that just my contact line rentals of R1400 a month. So we are cut off. My debit order ran through without issue on the 2nd of January but we still have no lines. All six lines are gone.... then one agent told me that if I paid in the R1400 that are my line rentals now they could unlock my numbers just for the month. So my debit order of R1700 has just run and now they want a cash payment for January in ADVANCE - plus I will still be debited January's bill on the 3rd of Feb. Go figure.... Then we would start the rigmarole again next month. To make this all the more frustrating I went onto my Credit Score rating to see what could possibly be the issue, and hey guess what, no bad debt, no debt review. My score is fairly high. To add to the stress of the situation when I called in again on Saturday to see what could be done, the agent for that call told us that no, we could not pay in and have our lines opened. Once my credit limit was lifted only then could the lines be opened. The saga goes on...Today I am told that the ticket has been opened and that they are attending to the matter, they are sorry that I was not informed that in November they changed their systems and started to review accounts accordingly to the debt review system and that by default my account was set back to the original limit they first gave me when I opened this contact account in 2014. So I must wait the 7 working days - which is next week the 14th of January until they may or may not open our lines.

This is unacceptable service to a loyal, long term and good paying customer. And I plan on taking serious measures against Vodacom for all this stress and poor service. My father in law has just had a heart attack and is in high care in Nelspruit so we have to drive daily 300kms without cell phones. Nice one Vodacom!
