Verbally abused Sale representative

People always complain as to the Staffs of Vodacom businesses and the service thereof is horrible. Let me let you in on as a staff who has recently been verbally abused by a customer who thought that they where right. The Phrase "the customer is always right!" is by far the most crippling of statements and belittling by far.

Customers come to our stores and make a huge commotion because they know their consumer rights act at companies but my question is do our companies know policies that protect employees from being verbally abuse, insulted even after assisting that same client with the utmost respect and kindness.

One thing i can say is, yes there are policies but companies do not implement them because the client will be a good paying client. clients are human beings, so are us that work in retail sectors, respect is earned not demanded. What you put in you will most likely get out. It is deemed as wrong to insult the client back. does it make it right for the client to do so to sales consultants. what about our feeling are we not human beings just cause we are working in the retail sector?

The next time someone indents on insulting a person they should put themselves in that persons shoes and think "How will I feel if someone insulted me????" as you intend to insult the very same person who is assisting you.
