USELESS VODACOM

I have recently moved to the UK. Before moving I requested a quote from vodacom for the cancellation of the contract I had with them, which I duly paid and submitted the paperwork for.

Now that I am in the UK I have found that my cellphone is locked and cannot be used on any other network, obvisouly this is a problem so I loggged onto my vodacom to see how to have it unlocked for other networks. Not only did I find no information, but I also found I still owe money for the contract. This is utterly unacceptable as I was quoted for the cancellation of my contract and paid in full the required amount. Therefore no other charges should be added to the account and the contract should have ended.

Further when trying to contact vodacom, from the UK, I recieved no response by email, webchat and no answer on their customer care lines. These calls from the UK to vodacom are costing much more than usual as it is a international call.

Vodacom has been utterly useless when it comes to solving these issues. This is also not the first, second or even third problem I have had with them.

Best regards,
I would just like to update this complaint.
I cancelled my vodacom contract in May 2016, and it's been more than a month since I posted the above complaint, and STILL Vodacom has not resolved this issue.
I recently recived an 'urgent' notification from Vodacom requesting I pay R1,185.00 for a contract that has been cancelled ages ago.
This despite having previously informing Vodcaom the contract has been cancelled and paid in full, a previous complaint, and a vodcom offical getting in touch with me on the 16 June 2016 to confirm the contract has been cancelled and the problem resolved.
How then am I still recieving bills for a contract that has been cancelled and paid in full. What effect is this incompetence from vodacom having on my credit record back in South Africa?
This is completely unacceptable, not only can Vodacom not keep track of it's own paperwork, have their employees contact me to confirm the problem has been resolved, which it clearly hasn't, but now my credit recorded will be effect, even though I acted in good faith and paid all that was owed to them. (An amouted quoted by vodacom when cancelling the contract.) Further I am now wasting more money making international calls from the UK to Vodacom, only to be put on hold, to solve an issue that I was assured had been resolved already and frankly it's a issue which really shouldn't have arisen if Vodacom was not so *********** when it comes to paperwork.
Vodacom, please kindly get in touch with myself so I may furnish yourselves with the proof of premature cancelltion quotation and proof of payment, as well as previous correspondence regarding the termination of this contract.
With any luck, maybe if I provide you with copies of your own paperwork, we can resolve this problem.
