I had the most distasteful experience with Vodacom yesterday. My cellphone was ****** and I called in to blacklist the phone. Naturally, I would not have a cellphone if it was ******. So I was calling from my husband’s cell phone. VODACOM needed to sms me information to provide to the police when opening a case. I supp**** them with my husband’s cellphone number which is a CELL C number. And guess what, THEY CAN ONLY SEND IT TO A VODACOM NUMBER. Now can someone explain that to me in simple English so that I can understand. My phone was ****** (Vodacom number), I am using someone else’s number (CELL C) and they cannot send an sms to a number that is not a VODACOM number. It makes no sense to me at all. Naturally I was very traumatised by the incident (first time in 20 years), in one of the biggest police stations,- JHB Central and I am supposed to find a total stranger with a Vodacom number. How does that work?
Best regards,
