Useless Vadocom with Galaxy Watch

I am quite disappointed in Vodacom. I am a customer for probably 20 years+. I received a Galaxy Watch that has an eSim and when phoning Vodacom last week, I was told that I can't activate eSim on my contract because it's apparently a closed contract and not an open contract. Although I have 250min, 1GB Data and R65 Airtime on my Topup contract, they want me to migrate to an open contract with 200min, 600MB data and 200sms (Less minutes, less data) at a higher monthly price.

This is ridiculous - why can't I activate and pay the eSim fee on my Topup contract (I am paying for it)? I have a Galaxy Watch with eSim but can't use it because Vodacom wants to force people into using specific contacts - I think it's time to move to other service provider as soon as my 2 contracts expire.

Thank you, but still for you to force people into certain contacts to be able to use a Samsung Smart Watch with eSim is ridiculous. I already have a contract for years with Vodacom although it's a top-up. In other words, you want me to have less minutes & less data on another contract that costs much more just so that I can make use of eSim in my Samsung Watch?

I don't really see the point as I already have a contact, I will still pay the same eSim activation fee and the Monthly eSim fee as any other contract. This just proves that it's time to move on to another service provider like for example MTN who do not have these restrictions
