Useless service

I recently upgraded the OS of my Mac Book Pro to Sierra. Ever since then, my Vodacom Modem doesn't communicate with it anymore. Apparantly this is a problem with the older model modems Vodacom issued. I have a data contract however and have to now keep on paying for data I have no way of using. After spending an hour with a consultant and being assured that my problem will be escalated, I simple received an sms with refno. 1- ********** 691640 stating that my query has been closed. That's nice. I haven't heard how my problem is going to be resolved or what is going to happen to the 2gig data I haven't been able to use during the entire month of Jan, yet of course still had to pay for, or what will happen to the subsequent data I'm going to be paying for until my contract ends. I'm astonished that no one at Vodacom has protacol in place for problems like these - I am 100% sure I'm not the only one who has had this problem. I'm furious.
