Urgent Complaint – Unauthorized Contract Extension and Continued Debit Orders

Dear Vodacom Customer Care,

I am writing to express my serious concern and dissatisfaction regarding the unauthorized extension of my Vodacom contract and the continued debit orders on my account.

My contract was due to end in July 2025, and I had clearly indicated that I did not wish to extend it. I received a call from one of your agents prior to the contract expiry, during which I was asked whether I wanted to renew. I made it explicitly clear that I did not want to extend the contract. I stated that I only wanted to keep the insurance on the device.

During that call, the agent mentioned that because I was choosing not to renew, my data package would be adjusted — however, I was assured that there would be no change in payment. At no point did I agree to any contract renewal or extension.

To my surprise, when I followed up recently, I was informed that my contract had been extended to 2027. This is completely unacceptable. Why would I be placed on a four-year contract for the same device, especially when I already receive sufficient data from my employer and have no need for an extended data package?

Following the call, I immediately requested that my contract be ended as scheduled and that no further debit orders be processed. Despite this, Vodacom has continued to debit my account, which is both unauthorized and unacceptable.

I demand that Vodacom: 1. Immediately investigates this matter and reviews the voice recording of the initial call. 2. Provides a detailed explanation of how a contract extension was processed without my consent. 3. Reverses the contract extension and stops any further debit orders with immediate effect. 4. Confirms the official closure of my contract and retention of only the insurance, as originally discussed.

I expect urgent feedback and corrective action taken without further delay.

Kind regards, Masixole Yoli
