Urgent Complaint: Excessive Calls and Privacy Concerns

I am writing to raise serious concerns regarding the excessive number of calls I receive from Vodacom and its associated call centers. These calls come at all hours of the day, often after 8 PM, on a daily basis. This level of communication is not only disruptive but also unnecessary.

In addition, with the alarming rise in hackers and ****mers, these frequent and unsolicited calls raise serious suspicions about the security of my personal information. I am deeply concerned about how many of these calls are genuinely from Vodacom, given the increasing sophistication of ****s that impersonate service providers.

Furthermore, I would like clarification on how my personal information is being shared across so many Vodacom-associated call centers. Does this extensive use of customer data align with the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act? It is my understanding that the POPI Act mandates strict control over the processing and sharing of personal information. I did not consent to this level of communication or distribution of my data.

I kindly request:

An immediate stop to all non-essential calls to my number. Confirmation of how my personal information is being managed and protected under the POPI Act. Assurance that my data will not be shared without explicit consent. I trust this issue will be taken seriously and resolved without delay. Please confirm your action plan regarding this matter at your earliest convenience.
