Upgrading of Cellphone Contract with Vodacom

I am a pensioner and because of our lower income, and looking after our expenses, I have decided to cancel my contract after+/- 15 years with Vodacom. On December 13, 2017, I went to a Vodacom Store at the Checker Hyper, Klerksdorp, to cancel my cellphone contract because of their high contract and cellphone rates. I had another service provider in mind with lower rates. For me to keep my cellphone number, the new provider told me I need to put my cellphone number for a month on prepaid, then I can keep my number. The assistant at the store, assisted me with my request and confirmed with me they cancelled the contract, and everything is fine. On the 19th January 2018, I made a dissension to keep my contract with Vodacom. So I went back to the store and the assistants at the store explained, to me it would be cheaper to do an upgrade directly with Vodacom. Instead of paying R150 to renew my contract at store, it will be free to do it directly with Vodacom Call Centre. I went back home and called Vodacom from my cellphone and a lady by the name Kayli assisted me with a new contract, A SIM contract, Smart S contract. She even recommended this contract, after I have told her that I have to look at my monthly budget. She explained to me the contract will start on the 1st February 2018, with R200 airtime, 200 sms and 500 MB. She also explained to me the data, airtime and sms that was on the previous contract will be available until the 31st January 2018. I accepted the information as she explained to me. On the 29th January 2018, all the data, airtime and sms, was deleted from my phone. I called the Call Centre, and requested to speak to Kaylie, because she helped me in the first place. She was not available, and someone else helped me. They said I must wait for the 1st February 2018 for the new contract. On the 1st February 2018, no data, airtime and sms, of the new contract appeared on my phone. So I called Vodacom Call Centre back, again, I could not talk to Kylie, another person help me, and the agent/consultant, said they will call me back. On Friday, the 2nd February 2018 I called them back again, and another agent/consultant told me, he will go into the account and it should be fixed by Friday night. On Saturday morning, the 3rd February 2018, my new cellphone contract was still not available. I went back to the store as mentioned above, and was assisted by a lady by the name Lesedi. She was really doing her best to help me, but when she looked on the account she even could not understand what is happening to my account. There I realized, my contract was only cancelled on the 19th January and not on the 31 st December 2017 as I requested for the first time, and I have an outstanding account for R75.00, usage from the 1-19 January 2018. By That time I had it with Vodacom, I have to call them , they don't reply on any of my calls, and still I did not have any benefits of my phone, and the benefits that was supposed to be available until the end of January 2018, was gone. So I asked Lesedi to cancel the whole contract. She called the cancellation department, and then they told her they cannot cancel the contract there were a query locked and they told her the query could take 3-5 working days. On Friday, 2nd February 2018, when I called the Call Centre, no one told me about the 3-5 days. On Tuesday on the 6th February 2018 I received a sms I have to pay the outstanding account. I called again and ask how far my query is, after talking to 3 agents and explaining the whole story 3 times over and over again, I eventually talk to a Cynthia at cancellations. They log a query again with a reference nr, and in the afternoon I received a call back from Vodacom, for the first time since the 29th January 2018. They are working on the problem and try to put my cellphone number back to prepay. According to an agent, by the name of Mari, the whole mess up was on the cancellation of my contract and requesting for the new contract on the same day. Well I had it with Vodacom. I could not speak to the lady (Kayli) who assisted me on the first time, and every time I called the Call Centre I were transferred from one person to another, and I have to explain my story over and over again. They don’t have the decency to call you back after the agents promise you they will come back to me. After 15 years of been a loyal client, paid my account in time, is this the service Vodacom is prepared to give to me.......What ashamed?
